Apopka Memorial Middle School is the home of the Seahawks.  Our faculty and staff are proud of our school and our students’ accomplishments. We work tirelessly every day to provide a caring and safe learning environment for our students. Here at Apopka Memorial, we offer a variety of enrichment opportunities for students. We have an outstanding STEM program (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) that prepares students for college and career success. Our students can play an instrument in the band or the orchestra, sing in the chorus, become talented artists, learn to speak Spanish or to dance and build team cooperation skills through physical education. We also offer a variety of high school credit classes for our students to get a jump start on their graduation requirements before they even leave middle school. Through clubs, competition teams and sports our students have ample opportunities to extend their education into other areas that interest them.

Our Vision is: To ensure every student has a promising and successful future

Our Mission is: With the support of families and the community, we create enriching and diverse pathways that lead our students to success

    Our Objectives are:

    • High Expectations for Student Learning
    • Student Social and Emotional Well-Being
    • Dedicated and High-Quality Team

    • Efficient Operations
    • Engaged and Invested Community

Working together with our parents and the community, we are ensuring our students’ lives are enriched and they are prepared for high school and beyond. Please review Apopka’s School Improvement Plan and Parent and Family Engagement Plan to learn more about our objectives. I am extremely proud to be the principal of Apopka Memorial Middle School and invite you to contact us if you have any questions about our school.

  • Safe Learning and Working Environments – A Top Priority

Creating and maintaining safe schools for students, staff, and visitors is one of Superintendent Barbara Jenkins’ goals within her strategic plan for Orange County Public Schools. Parental support and community involvement are vital to helping the district maintain safe, orderly schools. The district works in partnership with public safety agencies within the county, state and nation to develop and implement school and district emergency plans that help create safe school environments.  Click below to learn more.

    WE NEED PARTNERS LIKE YOU!

The Partners in Education program links businesses and organizations with schools to share resources, both in people and materials. Each flourishes from the support and prosperity of the other. Schools must prepare today's students for their entry into a competitive work force. When businesses take part in the education of these young people, they help strengthen the work force of the future. The Partners in Education program is vital in helping the community and the school system work and grow together.

    The general requirements are simple:

    • The partnership needs to provide a benefit to the school, as well as be mutually beneficial to the business through cause-related marketing not advertising.
    • We define a partnership as completing at least three activities, for each school your organization partners with, during the school year. This is the minimum requirement for recognition of the partner relationship.

The key to success is finding how the school's needs and the business's resources intersect and how they can be implemented in a mutually beneficial manner. Businesses can partner with an individual school, multiple schools or with the entire district.

    Parent Involvement

Parents are the cornerstone of any child's education. We need parents to be involved in the day-to-day operations of the schools. The school has several committees and booster organizations that are focused on making the school a highly productive, wonderful place to be. Please take a moment to check out ways to get involved with your student’s education.

    Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA)

Children learn more and have increased educational opportunities when the parents, school, and community work together. As children grow up and mature they need guidance with new friends, new experiences, and new challenges. By becoming a part of the AMMS PTSA you can assist your child in the transition from childhood to young adult by being active in their school community.

Whether you can spare 1 hour or 100, all the time and effort are welcome and appreciated. Together, we can continue to make Apopka Memorial Middle School even better. Volunteer activities at our school are coordinated through our Parent Engagement Liaison. There’s no commitment required; you simply reply back when there’s an activity you want to help with.  To volunteer at the school, you must be registered as an  Additions Volunteer through Orange County Public Schools.
